Artist Statement 2025: Over the past year I have worked exclusively with the mediums of printmaking and inking, drawn to the elegance and clarity of monochromatic works. My inspiration this year was drawn from the all time bored-academic’s-favourite-pastime classic: a deck of fifty-two playing cards. I have always loved strategy games and the amount of imagination, creativity, and wonder artists are able to instill into a 2.5’ X 3.5’ rectangle of paper has always astonished me. It was my goal this year to do just that. Without further ado, may I introduce you to “The Royals.”
