This year, I’ve focused on making traditional art work instead of digital. In particular, I’ve been learning how to paint. I started with learning oil, and then continued with oil pastels, and acrylic paint as well. I also enjoyed a lot of sketching and pencil work, which is some of my favorite art to make.
I’ve also focused a lot on feelings and expressing them through art this year, rather than storytelling and character design. My large painting is meant to reflect the feeling of lethargy and melancholy I often feel on a nice day when I have nothing to do. The menorah is a reference to my struggle with identity in religion.
This has been a very fun year for me, and I’m excited to continue to grow!
