Artist Bio
Holly G is a senior at Renaissance School who enjoys processing her emotions through art. Through the Portfolio Art class, Holly has enjoyed working on breaking from her detailed and controlled style to explore studies in color and composition. Her current portfolio consists of quick sketches and abstract collages done in a wide range of themes and colors.
Artist Statement
This year in Portfolio, I have been working on being looser with my art, often focusing more on the process than the outcome. This year has been challenging due to the sheer amount of schoolwork and college applications I have to complete, so it has been important to me to use the process of making art as a break from stress and upcoming deadlines. The only guidelines I have given myself is to focus on the color and composition. Because of this mentality, I have branched out from my original project, landscape watercolors, quite a bit. Watercolor sketches, collages, linocuts, and felted animals are just a few of the digressions I have taken, and I look forward to seeing where further explorations will take me.
