Memorial
We all have a past. Memories both fond and hurtful, visual and emotional. Some meaningful, others without significance at all. Every individual is impacted by their past. We are the sum of our experiences. Throughout our lives we collect new experiences, make essential choices, proceed down new paths, and, gradually, shed our old selves and grow into different people. It’s bittersweet, the, you could say, death of self–the doors you shut, the pieces of you that are left behind, the “you” that you no longer embody. The knowledge that there have been numerous versions of me that have died.
Thus, through oil paint, ink, acrylic, and watercolor, I will travel to the past. I will reacquaint myself with all the versions of me that once were. And I will bring back a piece of each of them with me.
This is their memorial.

I figure life’s a gift and i don’t intend on wasting it
Jack Dawson, “Titantic”

"I saw my childhood sunsetting before my eyes, going out as softly and serene as the late summer afternoon it left me on. There's a spirit that lives through us during every chapter of our lives. This one, I believe, licked all her wounds and laid down to rest in the endless fields of my elementary school. Leaving me beside her with white clover and bluegrass sprinkled on my knees, she's given me a love I will carry within me forever." B. N. Pressman
Portraits
Sometimes things don’t go to plan. Bored with my original Portfolio project I tried something new: oil portraiture. And let me tell you, oil is so much more fun than acrylic paint.
My skin is to the sun as paper is to flame Marks emerge from the canvas and stand as proof of movement, of change

Playing with colors, experimenting with light, and turning the simple just a little bit abstract. Also, an homage to our buddy Van Gogh.

Biography
Violet T is an aspiring poet, visual artist, and writer. She spends (perhaps too much of) her time lost in her own thoughts wherein she traverses worlds, strings words into sentences into poetry, and considers her stances on the moral debates she will conduct with her friends. She doesn’t know what path these interests will lead her along, but she is excited to spend this wild and precious life finding out.Â
A junior, she attends the Renaissance School of Charlottesville, Virginia, where she is currently stressing over college, considering a pursuit of film/ animation, and working on her oil painting skills.

I love these Violet. I am particularly drawn to the trading cards. Beautiful work.
