Artist Statement
I have always been fascinated by people, and have been creating sketches of strangers and friends for as long as I can remember. This year I decided to go deeper into this interest and create a collection of portraits that capture the individuality of each subject.
I am a person who expresses myself through forms of art, such as music, painting, and writing. When sitting down to write, draw, or play music I do not come with a set and concrete idea of what my creation should be or look like. My memories and things around me serve as inspiration and help me paint a picture of what I am thinking in that particular moment. I believe that creating with a purpose is important, however, I prefer to be open with my work so that the viewer feels able to interpret my art in their own way.
