Artist Bio & Statement

Ellie Leake is a current high school senior at Renaissance. Her work is mostly based in oil paintings, and portraiture. She enjoys painting impressionistic and figurative style of paintings, based off of real life things but adding a strange and unusual aspect to her work.

I am currently a Senior at the Renaissance school and plan on attending the VCU arts program in the upcoming academic year. My main influence comes from artists such as Basquiat, C.B. Hoyo, Neck face, and Frida Kahlo. My personal favorite medium is oil, and I tend to strive for realism when working with those pieces. When I’m feeling like less of a perfectionist I like to experiment with street art and street art styles, as well as film photography.
