This collection of photos represents my best work since summer. Since then, I’ve been experimenting with analog film, as I had been getting bored of my Rebel T6 and wanted to try something new. During the same time, I started using instant film when I purchased a Polaroid camera. The physical aspect of film felt so fresh, and it related to my senior thesis topic at the time. The grain and imperfections only enhanced my style of photography. My work is intended to evoke a sense of familiarity or nostalgia. All of these pieces are candids, not staged. They’re in the moment. I’m going to continue doing film photography into college, even if it does kill my wallet. This medium perfectly encapsulates what I want to do, and I can’t wait for what comes next with it.
