My name is Olivia Trager and I am an 18-year-old artist. I was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, and lived most of my childhood in Nelson County before moving back during middle school. Throughout my life, even as other interests ebb and flow, art has always been a part of it.
My portfolio this year is centered around a topic that is very relevant to me: coming of age. As an 18-year-old heading off to college, I find myself grappling with what it means to be a teenage girl, and what it means to become an adult. I worked mostly with painting—primarily oil paints and watercolors—to explore this idea through my work. I’d like to leave my work largely up to interpretation, but I encourage you to look out for repeated motifs and themes and think about what they mean to you.
