Current agricultural practices are based on the wide use of chemical pesticides that have been associated with negative impacts on human health, wildlife, and natural environment
Pesticides are necessary because they preserve the food and keep insects away, but on the other hand it is cleary very bad for your health when you eat something that has been sprayed with chemicals.
There is a major ongoing controversy existing between the advocates and the opponents of genetically engineered pesticide-resistant plants, regarding not only their safety, but also their impact on pesticide use
I believe that modifying the plants is not the answer, and instead consumers should be educated on how to remove pesticides properly from the food, just washing the fruit off in the sink water doesn’t remove any pesticides, the water needs to be at a high alkalinity for it to remove pesticides.
