This lesson will be taught to the Music Theory and Appreciation class on October 25th. This is one part of a continuing series on music appreciation, specifically artists considered experts in their fields. In previous lessons, the class has discussed Jacob Collier, Chris Thile, and Bobby McFerrin and their music careers. One aspect in particular that we have focused on is their inclination to genre hop. My lesson on Yo-Yo Ma highlights this theme and encourages further discussion of the topic.
The layout of my lesson plan is derived from a lesson plan template that I created based off of notes I took on Lesson Planning: Key Concepts and Skills for Teachers by Jonathan Savage. You can find my template here: https://renaissanceschool.online/2021/10/15/curated-lesson-plan-template-original-research/
